PHOENIX — A Scottsdale-based Mediterranean chain is set to open its first restaurant in Peoria next week.

Pita Jungle plans to open at the Park West complex near 96th and Northern avenues on Dec. 2, the company announced in a press release.

The restaurant will be located next to the Harkins Theatres and be the first to bake its own fresh pitas every day.

Dine-in customers on the opening day will receive a free small hummus or specialty dip all day with any purchase.

The Peoria location will offer seating for 110 guests inside and an additional 55 outside.

Pita Jungle hired about 60 full – and part-time employees for the location.

It will be the 22nd Pita Jungle location in Arizona and the 19th in the Phoenix metro area, but won’t be the newest for long.

Pita Jungle is scheduled to open a 23rd statewide location and third in Mesa in mid-December, according to the release.

We want to hear from you.
