Arizona’s Doug Ducey elected vice chairman of GOP governors group

PHOENIX – Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has been elevated to a leadership post among his GOP peers.
The Republican Governors Association announced Thursday that Ducey was elected to be its vice chairman for 2020.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was chosen as chairman of the group, which is dedicated to electing and supporting GOP governors.
“In states across the country, Republican governors are leading the way by fostering environments rich for job creation and putting forth bold, innovative policy solutions,” Ducey said in a press release.

Republicans hold the governorship in 27 states.
Eleven states will hold gubernatorial elections in 2020. Of them, seven currently have GOP governors.
