Computer outage knocks out all Arizona MVD services

PHOENIX – All Arizona Motor Vehicle Division online and office services were interrupted by a computer outage Thursday morning, authorities said.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said its Service Arizona website was down and all MVD and third-party offices in the state were unable to provide service.
The website was back up and running by around 11:30 a.m., ADOT said. Around 12:15 p.m., ADOT said all offices were operating normally.

The problems were caused by a fiber optic line malfunction that was discovered overnight.
ADOT encouraged customers to delay office and online visits during the outage.
Multiple state agencies were impacted by the malfunction, according to ADOT.
