PHOENIX — The Peoria Police Department has arrested a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on Wednesday morning.

Eniefiok Akpanikat, 22, was arrested at his residence near Olive and 97th avenues at approximately 8:15 p.m.

Akpanikat knocked on the door of a residence near 97th Drive and Olive Avenue at about 8 a.m. and solicited a woman who answered the door for work walking dogs or babysitting, according to police.

He then entered the residence and allegedly sexually assaulted the woman, police said.

Akpanikat left the residence when a relative of the woman entered the room.

Police were unable to locate Akpanikat despite the use of a K9 unit and drone.

Akpanikat was described as a heavyset black male with curly black hair, a bushy beard and a possible mark or skin discoloration on his right cheek next to his mouth.
