PHOENIX — A Phoenix woman was arrested last week after she allegedly tried to take a baby from its mother in a Target parking lot.
According to police, 38-year-old Nicole Danielle Nutting approached the mom and 7-month-old on Nov. 4 around 5 p.m.
The mom was putting the baby in her car in the lot near 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
Nutting began yelling “Travis, Travis, the baby’s right there. That’s my baby,” according to court documents.
She then allegedly pulled the mother’s hair and tried to take the baby out of its car seat.
The mom and a passenger in the car fought back, and Nutting fled the scene.
She was charged with one count each of attempted kidnapping and assault and held on $15,000 bond.
According to court documents, Nutting is considered mentally ill and a “danger to society.”
