Woman hit by motorcycle, killed crossing street in Phoenix

PHOENIX – A woman walking across a street in southeast Phoenix was hit by a motorcycle and killed Monday night, police said.
Jan Hong was near 40th Street and Chandler Boulevard around 8:15 p.m. when a man on a motorcycle ran into her.
The 32-year-old rider was taken to the hospital with serious injuries but was expected to recover. He was wearing a helmet.
Police said impairment did not appear to be a factor.
Hong was pronounced dead at the scene on South Mountain Parkway in the Ahwatukee area.
No other details were immediately available.
