Brat Haus shutters new Phoenix location and boozy doughnut shop

PHOENIX – Booze and doughnuts don’t mix, apparently.
Brat Haus has shut down its months-old Phoenix location as well as the doughnut shop it operated next door near 16th Street and Bethany Home Road.
DOH Coffee and Drunken Doughnuts, which opened in September, was known, briefly, for serving alcohol-infused goodies.
Customers had the option of ordering their sweet treats with a pipette of specialty liquor for an extra dollar.
The Brat Haus beer garden and restaurant in Scottsdale, which opened in 2012, remains in business.
The Phoenix location, which opened in late June, was a condensed version of the original.
Before the short-lived branch opened, Brat Haus owner Dave Andrea said he was looking to rapidly expand and eyeing potential sites around the Valley.

The restaurant’s Facebook page said Wednesday the Phoenix spot failed to draw “sufficient volume to sustain a viable business.”
Gift cards purchased at the closed location will be honored in Scottsdale at 3622 N. Scottsdale Road.
