Train crash involving two vehicles forces road closures in Mesa

PHOENIX — A Union Pacific train crash involving two vehicles closed multiple roads in Mesa on Saturday afternoon, despite no injuries being reported.
The crash occurred on Alma School Road and forced road closures on Alma School, Extension and Center roads in both directions.
North and south bound lanes of traffic will be closed for the next 4 hours at:
400 S. Alma School,
400 S. Extension, &
400 S. Center roadsdue to a minor crash at Alma School/Broadway involving a train.

Drivers were being detoured to Main Street to avoid the closures.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation but it is believed that one car rear-ended another, pushing it onto the tracks.
No further information was available at this time.
