Rage Against the Machine 5-date reunion tour to stop in Phoenix

PHOENIX — The explosive rap-metal band Rage Against the Machine, known for its politically charged lyrics, will perform in Arizona in 2020 after a nine-year hiatus.
The group announced five dates on Instagram on Friday, including a stop in Phoenix on March 30. No venue was named.
Multiple outlets confirmed the dates were part of a reunion tour, including two headlining shows at the Coachella music festival on April 10 and 17.
The other dates were March 26 in El Paso, Texas, and March 28 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Guitarist Tom Morello was scheduled to perform music from his most recent solo album, “The Atlas Underground,” on Friday night at The Pressroom in Phoenix.
Rage Against the Machine formed in Los Angeles in 1991 and has since released four albums, the most recent in 2000.

The band last performed together live in 2011, after which three members joined a new group called Prophets of Rage.
The group was nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018 and 2019 but failed to make the cut.
They won a Grammy for best metal performance in 1997 and another for best hard rock performance in 2001, along with five nominations from 1997 to 2002.
