PHOENIX — A man who ran an in-home day care in Glendale has been accused of molesting a 5-year-old girl, according to court documents.
Howard M. Blanton, 67, was arrested on Oct. 22 and charged with four counts of sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of child molestation.
Blanton allegedly assaulted the victim on several occasions at his home near 47th and Peoria avenues between October 2018 and January 2019, court documents say.
The victim and her family first told Glendale police about the assaults in January, according to court documents.
Blanton was first questioned by Glendale police in April in Kearny, Arizona, where he moved after being confronted about the allegations.
He told police at that time he did not sexually assault the girl but admitted she would occasionally enter the room while he was watching pornography.
In a separate interview last Tuesday, Blanton admitted to molesting the victim on several occasions, according to court documents.
Blanton is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
