UPDATE: Both shows have been postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak. The band says they will be rescheduled at a later time.

PHOENIX – It won’t be on a dark desert highway, but the Eagles will perform their legendary “Hotel California” album in its entirety in downtown Phoenix next spring.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers this week added an April 21 show at Talking Stick Resort Arena to their limited 2020 tour schedule.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Nov. 1 at 10 a.m.

On Nov. 6, the band announced a second show for April 26 due to “overwhelming demand.” Tickets for that show go on sale Nov. 15 at 10 a.m.

The initial tour announcement came on the heels of a three-night September and October run in Las Vegas in which the band played its 1976 masterpiece plus a greatest hits set.

The current Eagles lineup – longtime members Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit plus Deacon Frey (son of late Eagle Glenn Frey) and country star Vince Gill – will be accompanied on the tour by an orchestra and choir.

The tour now includes 21 shows in 10 U.S. cities from February through April.

More than 26 million copies of “Hotel California” have been sold in the U.S. and more than 31 million worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums in history.

It featured two No. 1 singles – the epic, mysterious title track and “New Kid in Town” – plus classic rock staple “Life in the Fast Lane.”

The Eagles last performed in Phoenix at Talking Stick Resort Arena in September 2018.
