PHOENIX — With flu season on the horizon, health officials are urging people to get their flu shot.
The CDC recommends that people over the age of six months receive the vaccine before the end of October. It takes approximately two weeks to develop antibodies to fight the flu after receiving the shot.
By getting the flu shot, people are protecting themselves and their community from influenza.
In partnership with KTAR News 92.3 FM, Walgreens will be providing free flu shots to those without insurance or who are underinsured from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 25 and Oct. 29 at participating stores.
There are no appointments necessary, but the promotion is while supplies last. Flu shot recipients must be seven years or older and must bring in a completed form, which can be found here.
