PHOENIX — A Phoenix man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly killed a man by hitting him with a 4-foot metal pole.
Police said officers saw Forrest Alvin Miles III, 34, running with the pole near Madison Street and 15th Avenue around 10 p.m.
Miles was reportedly being chased by a man who flagged down the officers and told them Miles had hit someone with the pole.
Officers found John Kallay, 40, lying in the street unresponsive a few blocks away.
Kallay was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
Police said witnesses identified Miles as the person who hit Kallay with the pole.
He was booked on charges of manslaughter and possession of dangerous drugs.
