Sangria Season is Now!

Dec 23, 2013, 8:24 PM | Updated: 8:24 pm

Hey, did you know that Friday was National Sangria Day? Did you even know that such a thing as National Sangria Day existed? Neither did we, until it was too late. But better late than never, eh?

It turns out that Rita’s Kitchen at the JW Marriott Camelback Inn serves a killer sangria and if you can’t head in over the holiday, we scored their recipe just in time for your holiday parties. Check it out:

Ingredients:

12 cups Burgundy wine
10 cups orange juice
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 tsp. vanilla extract
2 red apples (sliced)
2 green apples (sliced)
Grapes, orange, apple (diced for garnish)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients (except diced fruit) in a medium container
Add sliced apples
Allow to marinate for two days
Serve Sangria over ice in wine glasses
Top with diced fruit

Interest rates may have peaked. Should you buy a CD, high-yield savings account, or a fixed annuity?

Interest rates are the highest they’ve been in decades, and it looks like the Fed has paused hikes. This may be the best time to lock in rates for long-term, low-risk financial products like fixed annuities.
