Our first case stars a quick-change artist and it happened at a shopping center on Dysart Road just north of Interstate 10.
“This was a bank robbery in Goodyear,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch. “A suspect robbed the Canyon State Credit Union on March 6, 2014, at about 2 o’clock in the afternoon. The suspect came in (and) provided the teller with a demand note. She gave him the money and he left.”
The suspect parked behind a nearby Lowe’s and was actually witnessed changing clothes near the garden department. He took off in a small red vehicle — possibly a Nissan Cube or a Scion.
Next, a case of significant criminal damage and some great detective work leading to the identification of possible suspects.
“The crime occurred between Friday, Jan. 24, and Monday, Jan. 27, 2014,” Burch said.
Someone trashed the Franklin Northeast School near Adobe Street and Power Road in Mesa.
“A sales receipt was left at the scene,” said Burch. “It was tracked to a nearby store where two young ladies were seen shopping and buying said items.”
Detectives have the date, time and items purchased, as well as images from store cameras.
