Gilbert to host grand opening for fitness park in November

PHOENIX – Valley residents will soon have the opportunity to visit Gilbert’s newest recreational space.

The city announced that the grand opening of Desert Sky Park, a fitness-centered park, will be on Nov. 6.

It is located near Power and Williams Field Roads.

Festivities are slated to run from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

The opening will mark the completion of the first stage of development that includes four multi-purpose fields, a fitness course, a lake, and restrooms.

There will be giveaways and food trucks during the all-ages bash, according to the Facebook post.

Those who complete the fitness course will be awarded that title of Desert Sky Warrior and a dog tag necklace to prove it.

Adam Rayl, a Phoenix native and four-time finalist on NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior,” will be in attendance for the unveiling.

Once fully constructed, Desert Sky Park will be able to hold 16 multipurpose fields.
