Many parts of this 911 call are just too disturbing to listen to as the stabbing victim, 19-year-old David Lopez, cries for help and moans that he’s dying.

On Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, Lopez left work at a trendy clothing store inside Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall and boarded a bus where he and another young man appeared to have struck up a conversation.

David’s girlfriend left their apartment near 8th St. and McKellips and saw Lopez talking to the other man in the courtyard.

That was the last time she saw him, as the other man allegedly stabbed Lopez and fled the scene.

Lopez was a graduate of Coronado High School and had a love of friends, sports and drawing, his mother said.
