PHOENIX – It’s 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 4th, 2010. A woman living in an apartment near 4th Street and Southern Avenue in Phoenix answers a knock on her door.
A woman asks if she has a lighter she can use to light her cigarette.
Phoenix Police Sergeant Darren Burch says she’s about to reply, “when a male forced his way into the resident’s apartment, and ransacked the apartment.”
“Unfortunately, the two children were also in the apartment as well,” Burch said.
Burch says everyone was told to sit in the kitchen and no one was hurt.
The gunman took personal items, jewelry, cash and purses before taking off on foot.
“The victim’s credit card was used shortly afterwards and a surveillance camera got a picture of a possible suspect in this case,” Burch said.
It’s believed the woman who knocked on the door was working in cahoots with this guy.
The woman was Hispanic, weighed about 180 pounds, and was about 35 years old. She had long black hair.
The man was between 25 and 30years old. He was of medium height and weighed about 150 pounds. He was Hispanic and had a tattoo right side of his neck.
Anyone with information is asked to call (480) WITNESS.
