With the holiday party season among us, it is mindful to know not all parties end on a happy note.

At 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 25 2009, police responded to a call of shots fired near 16th St. and Baseline.

“It’s a situation where usually we go to the party and then find the problem, this time we found the aftermath and now we’re trying to figure out where that party was,” Phoenix Police Sergeant Darren Burch said.

At the scene police found 29-year-old Joshua Flores dead inside a car parked in the neighborhood.

“A black 1995 Buick Park Avenue with chrome rims,” Burch said of the car. “Detectives, in talking to the neighborhood, have discovered that there was a party in the area and that this victim was at the party.”

But, without knowing where the party was, police are having a tough time finding a suspect.

Another case, this one on Halloween of 2009, a man was shot at a house party in El Mirage.

“Two subjects at a party got in a fight, and unfortunately one of them had a gun,” Burch said.

Police know who the suspect is, they just need to find him.

“Pascual Reyes-Flores, approximately 38 years of age, 5’10, 160 lbs. with brown eyes and black hair,” Burch said.
