Man steals elderly woman’s purse

MESA, Ariz. – On March 6, a 73-year-old Mesa woman was walking from her car to her home when a man approached her and stole her purse.
The victim told police she notice a tan colored car driving slowly down the street behind her when it stopped under a street light just to the west of her home.
As she was walking to her front door, a man ran up to her and grabbed her purse.
The victim struggled with the man as he repeatedly told her to give him the purse.
The man won the struggle for the purse and ran back to his car and took off.
The victim immediately canceled her debit card and was told by the bank that the card had been used twice since the robbery.
Store surveillance photos show the man at the location using the debit card.
The suspect is described as a 6’0″ tall white male in his 30’s, wearing a baseball cap, a white t-shirt and shorts.
