PHOENIX – Police are seeking a suspect after two men, including a bystander, were shot during an altercation in Old Town Scottsdale this week.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Monday near Stetson Drive and Wells Fargo Avenue, just east of Drinkwater Boulevard, the Scottsdale Police Department said Wednesday in a press release.

Police reporting to the scene found two 23-year-old men with gunshot wounds. Both were hospitalized with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Investigators learned the suspect got into an altercation with one of the victims before pulling out a handgun and firing. That victim knew the shooter.

The second victim, who didn’t know the other men, was hit by a stray round.

The suspect was described as a black male wearing a purple hoodie sweatshirt.

Anybody with information about the case was asked to call 480-312-5000 or leave an anonymous tip at 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or the Silent Witness website.

We want to hear from you.
