PHOENIX — A West Valley police chief and deputy police chief were placed on paid administrative leave Monday, city officials confirmed.
Goodyear Police Chief Jerry Geier and Deputy Chief Justin Hughes were placed on leave over allegations of impropriety, Goodyear Digital Communications Director Tammy Vo said in an email.
No additional details were provided regarding the nature of the allegations.
“Placing these employees on leave is important in order to provide the neutral environment and support needed while outside counsel reviews the situation,” Vo said. “The city of Goodyear values the public’s trust and takes these types of accusations seriously, and is committed to conducting a thorough review.”
Two others department employees were also recently placed on administrative leave due to additional allegations of wrongdoing, Vo said.
No other information was immediately available.
