PHOENIX — The west side will be hit hardest by Valley freeway restrictions this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

In west Phoenix, eastbound Interstate 10 will be closed between 67th and 43rd avenues from 9 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for paving as part of the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange project.

The eastbound I-10 on-ramps at 91st, 83rd, 79th and 75th avenues will also be closed.

The closure will have an impact on traffic for a pair of Saturday events in Glendale — the Arizona Coyotes’ home opener at Gila River Arena and Monster Jam at State Farm Stadium.

Westbound I-10 will also have a restriction, with the freeway being narrowed to two lanes between the Interstate 17 stack interchange and 43rd Avenue from 8 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for paving as part of a freeway widening project.

The northbound I-17 ramp to the westbound I-10 will be narrowed to one lane, and the westbound I-10 on-ramp at 27th Avenue will be closed during that time.

In the northwest Valley, Grand Avenue (U.S. 60) will be closed in both directions between Dysart Road and Loop 303 from 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 4 p.m. Sunday for pavement sealing work.

Grand Avenue will also be narrowed to one lane in areas between 83rd and 27th avenues from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights through late October for pavement maintenance.

The Loop 303 will also be closed intermittently in both directions near Lake Pleasant Parkway from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for APS utility line work.

The closures will last up to 15 minutes each time, according to ADOT. The eastbound Loop 303 on-ramp and westbound off-ramp at Lake Pleasant Parkway will also be closed as needed.

In the East Valley, the northbound Loop 101 Price Freeway on-ramp at Chandler Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for a freeway widening project.

Northbound Loop 101 will be narrowed to two lanes between Chandler Boulevard and Ray Road from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights for the same project.
