PHOENIX – Accounting giant Deloitte is doubling its presence at a mixed-used development in Gilbert, the East Valley town announced Thursday.

The audit, tax and consulting firm moved into 100,000 square feet at The Commons at Rivulon late last year and now plans to take over a second building of the same size in early 2020, according to a press release.

“Gilbert continues to flourish as evident with this additional commitment from Deloitte at Rivulon and in our community,” Mayor Jenn Daniels said in the release.

“Our town and the entire Phoenix metro area has grown in a magnitude of ways from the partnership and impact of employment opportunities Rivulon has provided.”

Initial plans called for Deloitte to bring at least 2,500 jobs to Gilbert. Thursday’s announcement didn’t include new projected job numbers.

Rivulon is a 250-acre development on Gilbert Road north of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway.

Isagenix International, Morgan Stanley, Amerifirst Financial and Merrill Lynch are among the tenants there, along with an LA Fitness and a variety of restaurants.

The Commons is a four-building office complex in Rivulon. Deloitte will occupy two of the two-story buildings, and the other two are still under construction.

“As we continue our development of Rivulon, we are pleased to have Deloitte further cement their significant presence in The Commons,” Brian J. Ellis, president and COO of Nationwide Realty Investors, the project’s developer, said in the release.

“This expansion is a testament both to the strong Gilbert market and the energetic office environment Rivulon is fostering for the business community.”
