Weekend ozone health watch in effect for Phoenix area
PHOENIX — A health watch has been issued for both Saturday and Sunday for the Phoenix area because ozone levels are expected to approach the federal health standard, according to the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.
Even though the weather is cooling down, the ADEQ recommends that people, especially adults and young children with respiratory problems, limit their outdoor activity.
The ADEQ advises to drive as little as possible and utilize carpool when available.
They also recommend limiting waiting in drive-thru lines or refueling your vehicle in the evening.
The department updates the forecast hourly on their website.
