PHOENIX — A man convicted of trafficking fentanyl in Arizona by taping the drugs to his genitals is on the run, authorities said Tuesday.

Israel Morales-Cisneros, 33, was arrested in March 2018 following a traffic stop in Tucson that revealed the pills and more than 7 pounds of heroin concealed in a shoe box in his car, according to an Arizona Attorney General’s Office press release.

The combined street value of the drugs was about $90,000, according to the release.

Morales-Cisneros was convicted by a Tucson jury last week of one count of transportation of a narcotic drug for sale, one count of possession of a narcotic drug, one count of conspiracy and one count of illegally conducting an enterprise.

Morales-Cisneros posted a $5,000 bond before the trial and was not present.

The attorney general’s office said Morales is currently on the run and is believed to be in Mexico.

Morales-Cisneros is facing a sentence of 3 to 12 1/2 years once captured.

Anyone with information about Morales-Cisneros’ whereabouts is asked to call the Arizona Department of Public Safety at 602-223-2212.

We want to hear from you.
