PHOENIX — A wrong-way driver arrested Tuesday morning on Interstate 10 in Phoenix was suspected to be impaired, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Dustin Jesse Rea, 36, of Tolleson was arrested for aggravated DUI, DPS said Wednesday evening in an email.
DPS Trooper Jonathan Montes told KTAR News 92.3 FM that a white sedan was reported going the wrong way at 75th Avenue around 8:30 a.m.
Rea was traveling westbound in the eastbound left shoulder lane, Montes said.
No collisions occurred and there were no injuries.
According to an email from agency spokesman Bart Graves last week, 101 wrong-way drivers have been arrested for DUI in Arizona this year through Sept. 8.
