PHOENIX — Developers have broken ground on a new 605,000-square-foot industrial complex in the East Valley.
Marwest Enterprises announced Wednesday that Landing 202 would occupy 45 acres just south of Loop 202 near Hawes and Ray roads in Mesa’s Gateway area, according to a press release.
Landing 202 will be less than a mile from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and is in one of the city’s federally-designated opportunity zones.
“These brand-new buildings are in the heart of the Gateway area and close to multiple freeways; an awesome location for a wide range of businesses,” Mesa Mayor John Giles said in the release. “It’s exciting to watch southeast Mesa maintain its momentum as a thriving economic engine for the entire city.”
Construction on the first phase of the development has already begun and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2020, according to the release.
The first phase will include two buildings and approximately 565 parking spaces.
Construction for other phases of the project have yet to be announced.
