PHOENIX – Two men have been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a man in Tempe last week, authorities said Friday.
Kody Jebediah Parker, 29, and Armando Junior Crews, 37, were arrested Tuesday, four days after 48-year-old Jimmy Lee Williams was shot near Hardy and University drives, according to a Tempe Police Department press release.
In addition to the murder charges, they each were booked for endangerment, attempted armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery, the release said. Parker faces a fifth charge for misconduct involving weapons by a prohibited possessor.
Investigators believe the men targeted Williams to rob him.
Officers responded to a shooting call around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 and found Williams with a gunshot wound to the neck, the release said.
Williams died after being taken to a local hospital.
