PHOENIX – Police in a Phoenix suburb said a man and a mother of two are facing a trespassing charge after they were found unlawfully living in a vacant home.
Chandler officers, responding to a report Saturday of possible squatters in a house near Chandler Boulevard and Cooper Road, arrested Gary Lynn, 29, and Adriana Gamboa, 26.
Two children, a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old, were also in the house.
A stroller, food and clothing and other belongings of the four were strewn throughout the house.
Detectives said Lynn and Gamboa told them they were able to get in because the house, which is up for sale, was unlocked.
The sale is being handled by an online real estate, according to a police spokesman, but interested parties can gain access to the interior by registering and then receiving a code.
Gamboa’s cellphone had the app needed to get an entry code to the home, authorities said.
Gamboa is also facing a charge of possessing drug paraphernalia.
The Arizona Department of Child Safety has taken custody of her children.
