PHOENIX — Freeway closures in multiple parts of the Valley will impact drivers this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
In west Phoenix, westbound Interstate 10 will be closed between 35th and 67th avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Sunday for work on the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway interchange.
The Interstate 17 ramps to westbound I-10 at the “stack” interchange and the westbound I-10 ramp at 27th Avenue will also be closed during that time.
The I-10 closure won’t be a problem for Arizona Cardinals fans. The 7 a.m. reopening on Sunday shouldn’t cause any traffic concerns ahead of the 1 p.m. season opener against the Detroit Lions.
In northeast Phoenix, the westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Scottsdale Road and 56th Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday as part of an ongoing freeway widening project.
The westbound Loop 101 ramp at Hayden Road will also be closed.
In the East Valley, the eastbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway will be closed between Loop 101 in Tempe and Higley Road in Mesa from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 12:01 a.m. Sunday for pavement maintenance.
Before heading out this weekend, make sure you double check our list of weekend freeway closures and restrictions. There will be closures on I-10, L-101, L-202 and restrictions on I-17. Read the full list here: https://t.co/tad1HSp5ab pic.twitter.com/gSapkEOz32

Both Loop 101 ramps to eastbound 202 will also be closed.
Eastbound/southbound Loop 202 will also be closed between Higley Road and U.S. 60 in Mesa from 12:01 a.m. Sunday to 12:01 a.m. Monday for pavement maintenance.
Crews will reopen sections of the Loop 202 ahead of schedule as the work finishes.
Those aren’t the only East Valley closures.
Chandler Boulevard will be closed in both directions at the Loop 101 Price Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work as part of a freeway widening project.
