PHOENIX — Residents in Parker and La Paz, Ariz. can find relief at cooling centers that the American Red Cross set up Monday.
Following Sunday’s monsoon storms, some structures in those cities have been damaged.
There have also been extensive power outages that have affected hundreds of residents, according to APS’ outage map.
The Red Cross has set up two cooling centers in Parker for residents to escape the heat.
One is located at the Blue Water Casino at 11300 Resort Drive in the Mohave Conference Room. The second is at Parker High School Alumni Hall at 1600 Kofa Avenue.
The centers are open for 24 hours and have food and drinks.
Additionally, the centers are run by Red Cross volunteers and will remain open as long as they are needed.
