Topgolf Live turning Chase Field into giant, high-tech driving range
PHOENIX – Chase Field is throwing a curveball in December, when the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks will be transformed into a high-tech golf driving range for four days.
Topgolf Live, a pop-up experience from the company known for its golf-centric activity centers, will take over the downtown Phoenix stadium for a special event Dec. 12-15, according to a press release.
Chase Field will be outfitted with 23 private hitting bays, inflatable targets on the field and computerized tracking technology to determine scoring.
While you might be tempted to swing for the fences, your golf game will be judged on accuracy, not distance.
Groups will be able to reserve the bays for one-hour sessions, when players can take turns hitting balls at six targets ranging from 40 to 150 yards away. The Toptracer Range system will compute and display scores.
The event also will include putting, chipping and tailgating games.
A VIP experience that features catering, gift bags and stadium tours will also be offered.
The Diamondbacks are currently taking reservations for companies and large groups. Individual tickets will go on sale at a date to be determined. Anybody interested can register online for presale opportunities.
No pricing information was made available. Tickets reportedly started at $50 or $110 for VIP at a similar event held last weekend at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
Topgolf has three permanent metro Phoenix locations in Scottsdale, Gilbert and Glendale.
