PHOENIX – Air travelers in metro Phoenix will have another route to the East Coast beginning later this year.
Frontier Airlines announced Tuesday it would offer nonstop daily flights between Sky Harbor International Airport and Newark, New Jersey, starting Dec. 10.
Introductory bookings were selling for as low as $15 one way and had to be purchased by Wednesday.
The addition was one of 14 other new circuits for Newark Liberty International.

The airline already flies from Phoenix into the New York City area at La Guardia Airport and Long Island Airport. Newark is less than 10 miles from Manhattan.
“We’re excited to make flying more affordable for the Garden State,” Barry Biffle, CEO and president of the airline, said in a statement.
The discount carrier has been busy expanding services at Sky Harbor all summer.
In June, Frontier added nonstop travel to Las Vegas’ McCarran International, and less than a month later said it was heading nonstop to San Diego, Salt Lake City and Detroit, multiples times a week.
