Apache Junction, other Valley animal shelters holding adoption specials

PHOENIX – As part of a nationwide campaign, the Apache Junction animal shelter is holding a $20 special Saturday on all pet adoptions.

It’s part of the Clear the Shelters day for animal rescue organizations across the U.S., including dozens in the Phoenix area.

Paws & Claws Care Center, which is run by Apache Junction Animal Control at 725 E. Baseline Ave., will offer the discount from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The discounted fee includes spay or neuter plus first vaccines.

Apache Junction’s regular adoption rates are $90 for unsterilized dogs, $40 for previously sterilized dogs, $70 for unsterilized cats, $30 for previously sterilized cats and $40 for other animals.

More than 1,200 facilities took part in last year’s Clear the Shelters day, when 100,000 animals found new homes.
