PHOENIX — The second Arizona Cardinals preseason game in as many weeks will cause heavy traffic Thursday in the West Valley.
The Cardinals play the Oakland Raiders at 5 p.m., with parking lots scheduled to open at 1 p.m.
The Arizona Department of Transportation says drivers who are not going to the game should avoid the busiest stadium travel routes — Interstate 10 and Loop 101 — if possible.
Those attending the game traveling from north Scottsdale or the East Valley are advised to use Loop 101 westbound and southbound across the North Valley and Glendale in an effort to avoid the I-10 westbound, according to ADOT.
Allow extra travel time Thursday afternoon on Interstate 10 westbound and Loop 101 in the West Valley because of the Arizona Cardinals preseason game at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. More: https://t.co/kyhUVmSMLO#PhxTraffic pic.twitter.com/vOlF3BushO

Freeway message boards will carry updates on current and anticipated traffic conditions.
This is the Cardinals’ final preseason home game. The team plays one weekday game in the regular season — Thursday, Oct. 31 against the San Francisco 49ers.
