PHOENIX — The ASU Foundation set a fundraising record for the fifth consecutive year and increased its fundraising by 65% from the previous fiscal year.

The foundation announced in a press release Monday that more than $413 million was donated by 101,500 individuals, corporations and foundations during the 2019 fiscal year.

Last year, the foundation received $253 million in donations.

The ASU Foundation is the private, nonprofit fundraising arm for the university.

“Our donors’ generosity provides life-changing experiences for our students and allows ASU to realize its aspirations as a world-class research university,” ASU President Michael Crow said in the release.

“ASU would not be the university it is today without the support of those who believe in the power of education to transform lives and our society and commit their resources to make that happen.”

The amount of donors also increased significantly during the 2019 fiscal year, with more than 25,000 new donors.

The donations helped benefit more than 7,400 students through private scholarships, according to the release.
