PHOENIX — A Glendale man was arrested for allegedly stabbing his mother and grandmother Monday night.
Police said they responded to a call around 9 p.m. from someone who said a bleeding woman was at their door near Ocotillo Road and 43rd Avenue.
Officers said they found a woman when they arrived and another woman at a nearby residence, both with life-threatening stab wounds.
Police said the second woman told officers her son, 32-year-old Emil Kolenovic, stabbed her. The other woman was identified as Kolenovic’s grandmother.
Kolenovic was taken into custody on the scene.
He allegedly told officers he stabbed his family members because he believed they were trying to “pour a white substance down his throat as he slept.”
He was charged with four counts each of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct.
Police said the two women were hospitalized, underwent emergency surgery and were expected to survive.
