PHOENIX – Two men golfing in Phoenix were stung multiple times by bees Wednesday morning but they were expected to recover, authorities said.
Phoenix Fire Capt. Danny Gile said the unidentified golfers were injured at Cave Creek Golf Course at 19th Avenue and Greenway Road.
The men were standing near the sixth hole at the public course when bees came at them.
The pair was taken in stable condition to a hospital.
Course staff called a bee removal service.
There have been other bee attacks in the Valley this year.
Last month, a swarm of bees went after two men who were working in a Scottsdale backyard.
Three people were taken to a hospital in May after bees stung them near downtown Phoenix.
In April, a woman in Tempe was stung more than 20 times after heavy winds knocked a beehive out of a tree and onto her head.
