Amber Alert canceled after missing West Virginia girl found safe in Texas

PHOENIX — An Amber Alert was canceled Thursday after a missing West Virginia girl was found safe in Texas, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
WHSV, a television station in Harrisonburg, Virginia, reports 4-year-old Gracelynn Scritchfield was recovered in Pecos, Texas, on Thursday afternoon.
Scritchfield’s biological father, Arlie Hetrick III, was taken into custody on federal and state charges, according to the station.
Scritchfield was allegedly abducted by Hetrick in Fairmont, West Virginia, on July 6.

Police said July 23 that Hetrick’s vehicle was seen driving eastbound on Interstate 40 in Holbrook.
The Amber Alert for Scritchfield was activated in Arizona that morning.
