PHOENIX – Police in Mesa arrested a nail salon employee Wednesday, accused by a customer of molesting her little boy at the shop.
Police Department spokeswoman Irene Mahoney told KTAR News 92.3 FM the boy’s mother called in the afternoon and said she saw an employee grab her son then put his hands down the 5-year-old’s shorts at Premier Nails and Spa near Baseline and Ellsworth roads.
The boy had just left the bathroom when Minh Hoa Truong, 57, grabbed him by the arm. His mother pulled the boy away, went outside and called police, Mahoney said.
Officers were able to get the shop’s surveillance video. They charged Truong with kidnapping and molestation.
According to the police report, the woman, who was standing at the front desk to pay, thought it was an innocent, friendly encounter.
The report said the video showed Truong trying to pull down the boy’s pants but the child outmaneuvered the man and dropped to the floor to escape.
