Real Wild & Woody beer festival coming to Phoenix this weekend
PHOENIX — The Real Wild & Woody festival this weekend offers tons of cold beer, along with an air-conditioned environment to enjoy it in.
The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild will hold the event at the Phoenix Convention Center near Third and Washington streets 2-6 p.m. Saturday.
More than 65 breweries from around the country will be represented, with nearly 200 beers and hard kombuchas available.
The name of the festival comes from the three categories of drinks available — real ale (beer served from the same spot it ferments in), wild beer (a brew that uses an earthy type of yeast) and wood-aged brews.
“This event aims to showcase ‘wild and unconventional’ brew styles that you might not see anywhere else,” organizers say on the festival’s website.
“Some beers can only be found at this event. Look forward to cask-conditioned and barrel-aged, seasonal brews, beer cocktails and small-batch favorites.”
Tickets are $60 before the event and $80 on Saturday. They include 20 sampling tickets and small bites from local restaurants.
A limited number of designated driver tickets are available for $25.
VIP tickets which include early admission, souvenir glassware and more food options, are available from $80 to $120.
