PHOENIX – An east Phoenix restaurant that found a niche in a competitive dining market will be closing for good in a few days.
Bar Pesce chef Cullen Campbell posted the announcement earlier this week on social media.
He wrote: “It is with a bittersweet heart that we announce that we will be officially closing our doors after 7 wonderful years on Tuesday, July 30. Thank you for all of the joy and support you have given us over the years.”
The restaurant moved to 36th Street and Indian School Road in 2012, two years after launching in a small Scottsdale space.
The menu emphasized farm fresh ingredients for Italian-inspired dishes.
Last fall, Campbell changed the restaurant’s name and tweaked the food focus.
He said in the Facebook post that the final week will be filled with specials and lower prices.
On closing night, Campbell planned a pizza and sparkling wine party.
The restaurant had recently reopened after a week of vacation.
Less than two weeks ago, Gordon Biersch Brewery closed in downtown Tempe after almost 20 years.
