Hit-and-run driver arrested in fatal collision that killed 2

PHOENIX — Detectives have arrested the driver responsible for a fatal collision that left two dead Saturday.
L.C. Jones III was arrested Monday for his involvement in the accident, according to a release.
Jones was arrested and booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter, hit-and-run and endangerment.
According to authorities, Jones was driving at a high rate of speed southbound on 43rd Avenue in the center turn lane when he struck 17-year-old Nester Lopez. Lopez was taken hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Jones fled the scene and ran a red light two blocks south at Osborn Road where he collided with 28-year-old Edgar Ferral-Lopez. The 28-year-old was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased as well.
From there, Jones fled on foot from the scene.
