PHOENIX — Auditions for an Emmy-winning reality television show are coming to Phoenix later this month.

A casting event as part of the nationwide “Shark Tank” Diversity Tour focused on broadening the show’s pipeline for minority-owned businesses and contestants will take place on July 23, according to a press release.

The casting call, in partnership with the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and Values Partnership, will be held at the Better Business Bureau at 1010 E. Missouri Avenue in downtown Phoenix.

Auditions will last all day on a first-come, first-served basis.

“We are thrilled to partner with Shark Tank for a casting call to offer a launching pad for Phoenix’s diverse entrepreneurs,” Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Gonzalo A. de La Melena, Jr., said in a press release.

“As the operator of the Phoenix Minority Business Development Agency Center, we remain focused on elevating minority-owned businesses by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in high-growth industries.”

Auditions are for the 11th season of Shark Tank, the entrepreneurial-based show that allows contestants to show off their best business ideas in hopes of receiving funding to make them a reality.

Phoenix is one of 10 cities participating in the casting program.

“Shark Tank’s Diversity Tour provides an exciting opportunity for minority entrepreneurs to possibly receive expert mentoring and investment capital infusion to grow successful top-class businesses,” Alika Kumar, executive director of the Phoenix Minority Business Development Agency Business Center, said in the release.
