PHOENIX — An environmentally friendly hotel concept will make its North American debut in Sedona next year.

Ambiente will be the continent’s first so-called landscape hotel when it opens in December 2020, according to a press release.

The hotel plans to have a focus on sustainable methods and organic, modern architecture that minimizes the impact on the land.

Ambiente will be developed, owned and managed by Sedona-based company Two Sister Bosses.

“It has been our longtime dream to create a truly exciting and unique experience that is in harmony with the rare beauty of Sedona, our hometown where our family has done business for close to 35 years,” Jennifer May, co-founder of Two Sister Bosses, said in the release.

Ambiente will be located on State Route 89A, just west of Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill.

The hotel will feature 40 cubed-shaped guest atriums elevated above the ground by steel piers and constructed using floor-to-ceiling bronze-tinted glass.

Guests will have full views of Sedona’s red rocks and other natural attractions from their rooms.

Ambiente was designed by Scottsdale-based ASUL Architects.

The hotel received the city of Sedona’s approval to build last week and site work is slated to begin in the coming months.
