Extended closure cleared on I-10 westbound south of Sky Harbor

Jul 6, 2019, 7:14 PM | Updated: 9:38 pm

PHOENIX — A crash on Interstate 10 near the Salt River Bridge south of Sky Harbor shut down westbound traffic on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Arizona Department of Traffic Twitter account, all traffic on the road was directed to exit at 40th Street. Previously traffic was being diverted on University Drive.

The lanes were cleared by 9:35 p.m., according to ADOT.

The route closure could have made the commute to Chase Field for the Diamondbacks-Rockies baseball game more difficult to get to for those in the south Valley.

ADOT later tweeted that it was likely to become an extended closure.

No further information was available.
