Senate hopeful will be visiting the Arizona Science Center

PHOENIX — Mark Kelly (D), a former astronaut and U.S. Senate candidate, will be making a daylong visit to the Arizona Science Center July 6.
His stop to the center is just one of four locations he’ll be visiting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission. Kelly will also use the time to speak with locals about the importance of STEM education.
The Senate hopeful will spend the day interacting with the center’s 300 hands-on exhibits, hosting a film showing of Apollo 11: First Steps Edition and leading two planetarium presentations.
Kelly will be presenting Grand Tour of the Solar System in the Dorrance Planetarium, a 360-degree NanoSeam dome.

Following the showing of Apollo 11, which features newly discovered audio of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and others, Kelly will be taking questions from the audience.
To continue the celebration, Kelly, who has flown more than 22 million miles in space and orbited Earth 853 times, will visit the Saguaro Library July 9 to read his children’s book Mousetronaut to children.
He will also talk to them about space travel.
On July 16 Kelly will attend celebrations of the 50th anniversary at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral.
He is currently running against current U.S. Senator Marth McSally (R).
