PHOENIX — Here’s some good news for those traveling over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said there will be no planned freeway closures for the state through July 7.
The Loop 101 southbound on-ramp at Guadalupe Road and southbound off-ramp at Elliot Road will be closed for the ongoing widening project, however.
The ramps will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Friday through Sunday.

ADOT said it’s important to plan for possible backups due to traffic. Bring extra water and emergency items, check tire pressure before leaving on a trip and get plenty of sleep before driving.
The agency also reminded drivers to avoid sparking fires by not tossing lit cigarettes, allowing tow chains to drag on pavement or stop vehicles in areas with dry grass or brush.
