PHOENIX – A 3-year-old girl died Tuesday morning after being pulled from a West Valley pool the night before, authorities said.
Sgt. Bryant Vanegas of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said in an email that deputies responded to a possible drowning call Monday evening near Happy Valley Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway in Peoria.
They learned that the girl had been taken out of the pool by her mother, and CPR was being performed.
The child was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition and died early Tuesday, Vanegas said.
He said the case was under investigation, and at this point there didn’t appear to be any foul play.
No other details were immediately available.
